Celebrating the distorting impact of light and perspective on the clarity of a scene, “Surface” (2003) Is a tall photograph of what seems to be a lake surface shot in extreme depth of field, littered with leaves. Upon closer inspection one realizes that the image is in fact, a littered asphalt parking lot with shadows crossing it.
